Growing up in the Alpine Club house "Seekarhaus", which my parents Hans and Christl had leased, I went to the private secondary school Benedictine Abbey Michaelbeuern after primary school at the age of 11. After that I completed the 9th year of compulsory schooling at the hotel management school in Bad Ischl.

As cooking was already my passion at a young age, I started an apprenticeship as a chef at the Gasthof Markterwirt in Altenmarkt.

After passing my final apprenticeship exams, I was drawn to various places in Austria and abroad during the summer months. In winter, however, I remained loyal to the Tauern and managed the kitchen in the family's main house "Das Alpenland" until 1998.

After 2 years in the service department, I bought the Hotel Gamsleiten and moved to the Lungau side of Obertauern where I have been living my passion as a host and innkeeper for over 20 years.
